Ramona

Ramona Shrine Club was organized under the jurisdiction of the El Bekal Shrine in the city of Hemet, California, in 1954 under the guidance of Noble James Simpson, 33°, as the first President.

The Club was founded for the purpose of promoting fraternal sociability among the residents of the San Jacinto Valley, and to provide a means of assisting in the functions and purposes of the Shrine. The name of Ramona was selected from the name of one of the lead characters in the now famous Ramona Pageant that had its beginning in 1923, is held annually, and is based on the novel “Ramona” by Helen Hunt Jackson.

The Initiation Fee to join the Ramona Shrine Club, or the Shrinettes, is $5.00. The Annual Dues is $10.00 for the Club and $5.00 for the Shrinettes. We hold dinner meetings with the Ladies usually on the 4th Saturday of each month at the Hemet Masonic Lodge #615 They are usually dark during the hot months of July and August.
